about us

the origin story

2012

Olly and Alex met as neighbours — two kids obsessed with filming YouTube videos and chasing ideas that felt bigger than their back gardens.

Oct 2022

Fast forward a decade. After school, we reconnected over side hustles, business ideas (some smart, some wild), and a shared drive to build something real.

Nov 2022

We launched our first creative venture - Explandore. Armed with a phone, a vision, and hundreds of cold calls, we signed our very first client.

Feb 2023

We kicked off our first TikTok channel, creating raw business content from bedrooms and busy streets - chasing views, testing formats, learning fast.

Mar 2023

The views rolled in. Brands started reaching out. The first being EnergyBytes - asking us to produce street interviews. That moment changed everything.

Jul 2023

We found our lane: real, organic street interviews. From there, we doubled down - working with any brand ready to get involved and doing whatever it took to drive views.

Oct 2023

We launched @Upbeat_Signs - a new TikTok channel with a bold look and sharper street content. Within our first month, we generated 21M+ views and 22,000 followers.

Nov 2023

With momentum building, we rebranded the agency as Upbeat Media - a name that reflected our energy, ambition, and commitment to creating real, human-led content.

Jan 2024

From there, we started to scale - bringing on monthly clients, building out freelance editing teams, and getting proactive with outreach, including offering free custom street interview plans at the UK’s biggest trade shows.

Jun 2024

@Upbeat_Signs hit 100,000 followers - and the comments showed the content was connecting.

Oct 2024

We levelled up. Achieving 100M+ client views over summer, brands like TheRippleCo, WiseTransfer, and Sony Music joined the roster - drawn in by the reach and relevance of our content.

Jan 2025

We began collaborating with experienced presenters and creators, sharpening our storytelling and expanding what ‘man on the street’ content could look like.

Apr 2025

A major milestone: 500 million views delivered for clients. Proof that real content works. That momentum opened the door to larger brands and major events across industries.

Aug 2025

Upbeat was completely rebranded - a new website, a new brand film, and a clear mission: To make marketing more authentic.

Jan 2026

We repositioned from organic Vox Pops to Street Interview Ads - evolving the model to deliver stronger ROI and more measurable value for our clients.

Feb 2026

A huge moment for us - we hired our first full-time employee, Ben, marking the next step in building the team behind Upbeat.

Brands hire us to interview strangers from their target demographic about their product. A dedicated Creative Strategist runs the brief, the shoot and the edit — start to finish. You get paid-ready ads built to stop the scroll, hold the viewer, and convert them into customers.

Most agencies pick a lane. Top-of-funnel awareness, or bottom-of-funnel conversion. We do both, in the same asset. Our street interview ads grab attention at the top, then do the work most agencies avoid — the messy middle, where viewers decide whether they actually care. A stranger on a high street talks about your product like they're talking to a mate. That builds the consideration paid creative usually has to buy twice. Native to the platform. Built for the scroll. Engineered to convert.

Depends on the volume. We've got trial packages for brands testing the format, low-volume retainers for steady creative refresh, and high-volume retainers for brands burning through ads fast. We'll also build something custom if none of those fit. Book a call — we'll tell you which one makes sense for you.

Both, we offer trial packages for new clients who want to see the format work before committing but most brands land on long-term. Paid creative burns out fast, and brands that run street interview ads at volume need fresh assets in the pipeline every month. The retainer model brings the cost per asset down significantly, which is usually the reason brands switch over after their first batch.

Yes. Every participant scans a QR code on the day, pulls up a release form on their phone, and signs before they leave the shoot. Every clip we deliver is cleared for paid use across Meta, TikTok and anywhere else you want to run it.

Built for paid. Every asset is cut for vertical — TikTok, Meta Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts, Snap. Hooks in the first second, pacing built for retention, CTAs engineered for the conversion event. Organic edits are a different shape, which we’re also expert in. Just flag it on the brief and we'll customise your project.

DTC brands, mostly. Food and beverage, apparel, beauty, wellness, supplements, CPG, consumer apps, tech. The format earns its keep in two places — crowded markets where trust is the bottleneck, and newer categories where the brand needs a stranger to explain it better than the brand can. If your audience has stopped believing polished ads, you're a good fit.

Four stages. Brief, build, shoot, edit. We start with your audience, your goals, and what's already working in your ad account. Then a Creative Strategist builds the brief — the hooks, the prompts, the angles, and the kind of person we need on camera to match your buyer. On shoot day, our presenters hit the high street with a microphone and the brief. We approach strangers who match your demographic and capture real reactions. No scripts. No actors. Then we edit. Hooks engineered for the first second. Pacing built for retention. CTAs cut for the platform you're running on. You get paid-ready assets back, ready to push live. Different brands, different briefs, different streets. The process is the same every time.

Real. Every time. Our presenters approach strangers on UK high streets with a prompt — not a script. We guide the conversation so it stays useful to your brand, but nobody is reading lines, and nobody is acting. People speak in their own voice, their own accent, their own words. That's the whole point of the format. The unpredictability is the product. If it were staged, it wouldn't convert. Viewers can spot a script in three seconds.

Yes. Most of our clients are targeting 25+ audiences with real spending power, and that's the demographic our format performs best with. Our presenter roster spans ages 21 to 51, which means we can match the on-camera energy to whoever you're selling to. We've shot for brands targeting 65+, so 35–44 and 45–54 are well within range. The street decides who walks past. Our presenter decides who stops to talk. The combination is how you get a 50-year-old on camera giving an honest opinion on your product, not a 22-year-old pretending to.
